Well, if you want an excellent, top-quality site for you or your business but don't want to spend (or have) the money to pay an expensive web design company, then you've found the right place. I normally charge a flat fee, depending on the size of the site and the amount of work needed to complete it. In that case, I require half of our agreed fee up front and the other half upon completion of the site. I encourage you to shop around and compare my quote with those of other companies. I believe that you will find my rate to be very competitive, especially for the quality of pages you'll get.
In addition to the fee for designing a site, you must also pay for the hosting of the site if you don't already have one. I don't control this price; other companies do. I can, however, refer you to some of the more reliable and cheaper hosting you'll find on the internet
(GoDaddy,
iPowerWeb,
HostBaby, etc). If you would like your own domain, there are several domain registration sites that charge a standard $35/year fee for registering a domain name. Sometimes your hosting company will take care of the domain registration for you and include that as part of their fee or charge as low as $8/year to register a new domain name. Monthly fees charged by the hosting companies start at about $4/month and go up, depending on the amount of web space and other features that the host provides.
What you pay breaks down to the following:
One-time fee for designing the website (plus continuing fees if you need me to maintain and update your site) paid to me
A monthly fee to your website host company
A registration fee for your own domain name (www.yourname.com)
My payment requirements: Once you decide if you want me to design your site and we agree on a price, I will need half of the money up front and the other half upon completion of the site. I will upload parts of the site as I finish them so that you can see how it's coming along and give feedback.
One last note: Web design and development take time! This site alone took me several days to make, so don't be expecting a complete site in a day.
